Striving for Excellence. Achieving Together.
Mission, Vision, Values Framework
To help us achieve this school vision, the school community has signed up to a variety of promises.
At Harrington Hill, we prioritise creating a positive learning environment whereby the necessary personal attributes of a successful learner are openly discussed, reinforced and celebrated so as to foster a love of learning.
Our vision is that all children at Harrington Hill will be happy, successful, lifelong learners who are able to achieve their full potential and become positive members of society. We regularly talk to the children about having a positive attitude and we always aim to praise effort and attitude in class, rather than results. We encourage children to have growth mindset – instead of saying, ‘I can’t do this’, we say, ‘I can’t do this YET’.
Our learning behaviours are central to all teaching at Harrington Hill. They are promoted by teachers and referred to in lessons in order to help children understand how they learn best. Our 5 key learning behaviours are:
Children use these learning behaviours to develop useful strategies to support their learning. To help children understand these learning behaviours and how they can show them throughout the school day, we appointed five learning behaviour superheroes!
