Over the year, the children are exposed to the full PE curriculum and develop their skills in dance, athletics, gymnastics and games. Children in year’s three to five also have one term of swimming lessons a year.
Other Sporting Opportunities
In addition to these lessons, we offer a wide range of sporting after-school clubs such as football club (for both boys and girls), fitness and running club and many more.
We also offer an outdoor education learning experience for Year 6 at PGL and other outdoor learning experiences such as cycling and kayaking for pupils across Key Stage 2.
As children progress through the school they are also given opportunities to take part in borough -wide competitions and some children have even gone on to represent the borough in wider London events.
Healthy mind and body breaks
We have introduced GoNoodle into our classrooms In order to ensure that our pupils enjoy mind and body breaks throughout the day, we introduced GoNoodle into our classrooms. These have been a great way to get active during transitions and wet playtimes!
Physical Education (PE) is a statutory subject and highly valued at Harrington Hill. Physical activity is integral to the good health of our children and thus, suitable PE kit is essential in ensuring that pupils access the PE National Curriculum to its potential, and participate safely and comfortably in physical activity at school. We believe that a uniform kit encourages our children to have a sense of belonging to a community and promotes a feeling of pride and equality.
Harrington Hill PE Kit is compulsory and consists of:
- Black, grey, navy shorts/leggings/tracksuit bottoms
- Plain white or red t-shirt
- Suitable trainers (these can be the trainers usually worn to school)
